How Chiropractic Care Can Help with Chronic Pain Management

Chronic pain is defined as pain that lasts for more than three months. It can be a debilitating and frustrating condition that affects millions of people around the world. While there are various treatment options available, chiropractic care is a safe and effective method for managing chronic pain.

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. It involves the use of spinal adjustments and manipulations to restore proper function to the body.

So, how can chiropractic care help with chronic pain management?

Address the Root Cause of Pain

One of the main benefits of chiropractic care is that it helps to address the root cause of pain rather than simply masking the symptoms. Many chronic pain conditions are caused by misalignments in the spine or other joints, and chiropractic adjustments can help correct these misalignments and restore proper function to the body. By addressing the underlying cause of the pain, chiropractic care can provide long-term relief rather than just temporary symptom relief.

Improve Range of Motion and Flexibility

Chronic pain can often lead to stiffness and decreased range of motion in the affected area. Chiropractic adjustments can help improve range of motion and flexibility by releasing muscle tension and correcting misalignments. This can lead to an overall improvement in function and a reduction in pain.

Reduce Inflammation

Inflammation is a natural response to injury or tissue damage, and it can contribute to chronic pain. Chiropractic adjustments can help reduce inflammation by improving blood flow and promoting the healing of tissues. In addition, chiropractic care can also help to reduce muscle spasms, which can also contribute to inflammation and pain.

Improve Sleep

Chronic pain can often lead to difficulty sleeping, and poor sleep quality can in turn worsen chronic pain. Chiropractic care can help improve sleep by reducing pain and muscle tension, and by promoting relaxation.

Drug-Free Pain Management

For those who are seeking a drug-free option for pain management, chiropractic care may be a good choice. Chiropractic adjustments are a natural and non-invasive method for managing pain, and they have few if any side effects. This can be especially appealing for those who are concerned about the potential risks and side effects of pain medication.

In conclusion, chiropractic care can be a valuable tool for managing chronic pain. By addressing the root cause of the pain and promoting healing and relaxation, chiropractic care can provide long-term relief and improve overall function. If you are suffering from chronic pain, consider incorporating chiropractic care into your treatment plan for a natural and effective approach to pain management.

The Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Athletes

Athletes push their bodies to the limit on a regular basis, and it’s no surprise that they are prone to injuries. While rest and physical therapy are important for recovery, chiropractic care can also play a crucial role in helping athletes heal and perform at their best.

First, let’s define chiropractic care. Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. It involves the use of spinal adjustments and manipulations to restore proper function to the body.

So, how can chiropractic care help athletes?

Improved Performance

Chiropractic care can help athletes improve their performance by optimizing the function of the nervous system. The spine is the home of the central nervous system, which controls all functions of the body. When the spine is misaligned, it can cause nerve interference and disrupt the body’s ability to perform at its best. Chiropractic adjustments can help correct misalignments and restore proper communication between the brain and the rest of the body.

Pain Relief

Athletes are no strangers to pain, whether it’s due to a specific injury or the wear and tear of training. Chiropractic care can help relieve pain by addressing the root cause of the problem. For example, if an athlete is experiencing back pain, a chiropractor may focus on correcting misalignments in the spine that could be causing the pain. In addition to addressing the cause of the pain, chiropractic adjustments can also help to reduce inflammation and improve blood flow, both of which can help with pain management.

Faster Recovery

When an athlete is injured, the goal is to get them back on the field or court as soon as possible. Chiropractic care can help speed up recovery by reducing inflammation, improving range of motion, and promoting the healing of tissues. Chiropractic care can also help prevent future injuries by improving the function of the body as a whole.

Increased Flexibility and Range of Motion

Chiropractic care can help athletes improve their flexibility and range of motion by addressing misalignments in the spine and other joints. When the body is functioning optimally, the muscles and joints can move more freely, which can lead to improved performance and reduced risk of injury.

Reduced Risk of Injury

Proper alignment of the spine and joints is crucial for optimal body function. When the body is misaligned, it can lead to an increased risk of injury. Chiropractic care can help athletes maintain proper alignment and reduce their risk of injury. In addition, regular chiropractic care can help athletes identify and correct any imbalances or weaknesses in the body that could lead to injury.

In conclusion, chiropractic care can be a valuable tool for athletes looking to improve their performance, relieve pain, recover from injuries, and reduce their risk of future injuries. Whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, consider incorporating chiropractic care into your training routine to help you perform at your best.

Our Pillow Story

Most people don’t know that our pillow product’s all originated organically just like our chiropractic clinics. We had been living here in the Philippines for about a year & just opened our 1st Chiro branch in QC. I had yet to find an effective sleeping pillow, so we went to the top mattress / pillow manufacturer here in the Philippines. I was very impressed with their inventory as they had so many different pillows to choose from. We spoke with the owners & they let it be known they would manufacture my own pillow, I just had to give the design etc. I left with over 10 of their pillows so I could try them all & come up with the perfect pillow.

After a couple weeks of trying all of the pillows I was ready to make my design. The problem I encountered with their pillows was a slight flaw in each. The pillows’ were either too soft, too heavy or uncomfortable. I wanted to create an effective pillow that supports your neck while you sleep but also is very comfortable. From my experience this is the problem. The “effective” “cervical pillow” is uncomfortable & most people toss them after a few nights sleep.

After several months & several tries we came up with our 1st pillow. Now when it comes to pillows you’re definitely not going to please everyone. Everyone has different preferences but for me it was important to come up with a quality pillow that most people will enjoy. Over time we have come up with 3 different sizes because well everyone is a different size. We have small, medium & large. Our pillows are made of a memory foam on the outside & a mixture of soft foam in the middle to create that support. Our pillows are also shaped like a standard pillow, there is no fancy humps in the middle.

Over the years we’ve added to our pillow products. We now have pillows for lumbar support, neck support & side sleepers. I feel we’ve accomplished our goal of creating an effective & comfortable pillow. We will continue to modify & try to come up with the perfect pillow. For now, we’re enjoying our sleep a lot more now.

How does chiropractic boost the immune system?

When the immune system is active, the human body gets to repair damage, fight infection, and prevent cancer cells. It is directly connected to the nervous system, which guides the immune system cells to where the damaged or infected area is. Failure of the nervous system to respond correctly to a damaged or infected area may result in autoimmune diseases or conditions in which the immune system can no longer differentiate the body’s own cells from foreign cells.

One of the reasons why the nervous system experiences malfunction is because of obstructions such as structural shifts in the spine and compression of nerve pathways. Freeing the nervous system from these obstructions allows the body to respond effectively. The best way to do that is through chiropractic. Chiropractic aims to remove interferences in the nervous system through spinal manipulation that not only boosts the immune system but also improves overall health.

Chiropractic has been found effective in helping boost the immune system. According to The Chiropractic Journal published in 1989chief of cancer prevention research at New York’s Preventive Medicine Institute and professor of medicine at New York University Ronald Pero Ph.D. found out in his three-year initial study that patients who received chiropractic care have 200% greater immune competence compared to patients who did not.

In 1991, Patricia Brenna Ph.D. also proved the positive effects of chiropractic on the immune system when her study revealed that patients who received chiropractic manipulation in the thoracic region have higher white blood cell response in the first 15 minutes.

In this time of the pandemic, people are advised to boost their immune system to protect the body against foreign invaders. Chiropractic certainly aids in the nervous system so the immune system can function properly especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a matter of fact, chiropractic has already been found beneficial during the 1918 flu pandemic. Studies show that 50 medical doctors were able to treat 4,953 cases, with 274 deaths in Davenport, Iowa while 150 chiropractors from Palmer School of Chiropractic were able to treat 1,635 cases with one death in the same city.

While chiropractic can be an excellent help in boosting the immune system, people should remember that prevention is always better than cure. It means that you do not need to wait for sickness before you start receiving chiropractic care. With a proper diet and healthy lifestyle, receiving chiropractic care soon can definitely keep you away from diseases, infections, and other sicknesses.

Why should I drink fresh vegetable juice?

Imagine having to eat 800 grams of fruits and vegetables daily to gain maximum protection against diseases and premature death. That is exactly what research suggests according to CBSNews.com.

Unfortunately, fruits and vegetables are not exactly everyone’s favorite, and not everyone also has the time to eat that much in a day. This is the reason why juicing has become a health craze many people go for. It is a refreshing and convenient way to let your body absorb nutrients.

Fresh juices have many amazing benefits. They still have the soluble fiber of whole fruits and vegetables, which is helpful in digestion. Aside from that, they have insoluble fiber that aids in lowering cholesterol. Since the body spends energy to convert solid food to liquid, drinking fresh juices also skips that part and saves the body’s energy. Furthermore, it is a healthy way to kickstart your weight loss journey.

In my book Doc Rob’s Guide to Better Health and Wellness, I shared 5 combinations of fruits and vegetables you can try with your juicer in the comfort of your own home.

Carrot and orange: Carrot and orange make a delicious drink that’s rich in beta carotene. Beta carotene is being converted to Vitamin A, which is good for the eyes. It is also beneficial for the lungs & kidneys.

Kale, apple, green grapes, and cucumber: Kale, apple, green grapes, and cucumber have high water content, which is ideal as a refreshing drink. It’s a powerful combination of fruits and vegetables that acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Creating an alkaline environment in your body is vital to creating optimal health.

Lychees, peaches, and coconut water: Lychees, peaches, and coconut water is a great combination for people who like something sweet without adding sugar. It is packed with electrolytes for hydrating the body and regulating nerve and muscle function.

Mango and pineapple: Mango and pineapple are both rich in Vitamin C. This fruity combination is best for digestion.

Tomato, kale, celery, and parsley: Kale, celery, and parsley are low-calorie green leafy vegetables that act as antioxidants. Combining it with the sweetness of tomato makes it a perfect drink for a healthier diet.

Juicing is a fun and revitalizing way to supplement your diet. Just remember to drink your fresh juice right away to avoid losing its nutrients and potency. While it is best to drink fresh juices with an empty stomach, don’t forget that it should not replace your meals.

How important is your sleeping position?

Sleeping contributes to a person’s well-being more than we realise. It restores energy and plays an important role in temperature regulation, immune system, hormone levels, and appetite. However, most people do not realize that during their sleep, their sleeping position matters.

In general, side sleeping is the best sleeping position. It allows the neck and back to stay aligned while the airways are open and the esophagus is elevated. Side sleeping is helpful for people with back pain, sleep apnea, and acid reflux. It is also advisable for pregnant women as it helps in maximum blood flow and kidney function, getting rid of swelling in the body. While sleeping on the side has been found beneficial for people with certain conditions, it may still cause shoulder stiffness and can make the jaw tight.

Another sleeping position that can improve the quality of sleep is back sleeping. It has many benefits like avoiding neck pain and protecting the spine. Unlike side sleeping, back sleeping does not cause sagging and wrinkles. People experiencing heartburn can even find comfort in back sleeping with their head slightly elevated.

Some people classify themselves as stomach sleepers, but unfortunately, they need to start changing positions now. According to SleepAdvisor.org, there are three main reasons why sleeping on the stomach is bad: 1.) It places a strain on the spine, 2.) It causes pain in the neck, and 3.) It’s unsafe for pregnant women. Stomach sleeping unevenly distributes the weight of your body making the head and limbs higher than the core. This results in spine misalignment and often leads to neck and back pain. It may be challenging to change sleeping positions, but avoiding stomach sleeping can prevent different health conditions.

Picking the right sleeping position should still not compromise your comfort. Make sure that along with your sleeping positions, you also consider the right pillow and mattress. Also, remember that clean sheets contribute to the quality of your sleep. These little details may be sometimes overlooked, but it can make positive changes in your sleep.

Summary:

Good position: Back & Side

Avoid: Sleeping on your stomach

The purpose of this blog is to enlighten everyone to all of the small details that contribute to our overall health & well-being.

Bacteria does a body good?

People mistakenly thought that bacteria are always harmful to one’s health. Throughout the years, the idea of good and bad bacteria has cleared out this misconception and introduced the benefits of having the right balance between the two. Studies show that the right balance in the body is composed of 85% good bacteria and 15% bad bacteria. This simply means that more good bacteria should be available to eliminate extra bad bacteria, especially when infection occurs.

The best and most popular good bacteria are probiotics. Probiotics are live microorganisms naturally residing in and on the body. They are beneficial for everyone’s health, mainly in the digestive system. When these good bacteria get flushed out of the system, eating probiotic food or taking probiotic supplements can fix the equilibrium.

There are two common types of probiotics found in food items: lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. Lactobacillus is a friendly type of bacteria found in yogurt, other fermented food, and supplements. Different strains probiotics help alleviate different health problems. Lactobacillus acidophilus benefits the body in many ways including preventing diarrhea, reducing cholesterol, promoting weight loss, and many more. On the other hand, lactobacillus bulgaricus can have a positive effect on people with liver disease, common cold, and inflammatory bowel disease. The probiotic bifidobacterium is also a good kind of bacteria that can be found in dairy products. It helps ease gut problems and has shown positive effects on illnesses. Bifidobacterium bifidum has recently gained attention for its ability to restore intestinal bacteria after chemotherapy and treat constipation, lung infection, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) among others. Another kind of bifidobacterium is the multifunctional probiotic bifidobacterium longum. Apart from easing gastrointestinal diseases, studies also show that it can improve immune dysfunction.

Probiotics are essential in keeping bad bacteria and germs at bay. They are proven to aid digest food, get rid of diseases, and produce vitamins. In cases that food sources mentioned above are unavailable, probiotic supplements are the best alternative to easily and quickly acquire its benefits.

Supplementing with probiotics is a great way to enhance all the benefits of healthy bacteria in the gut. I highly recommend finding a quality probiotic & adding this to your daily supplemental routine.

The Miracle That Is Omega 3 Fatty Acid

In the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), people should eat 1-2 servings of fish per week to avoid the risks of heart disease and ischaemic stroke. This should provide 200-500 mg of the main omega-3s namely eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acid. Unfortunately, not everyone can monitor their fatty fish intake to acquire its many benefits. That is the reason why fish oil (fat extracted from fish tissue) has been a successful supplement in providing nutrients, especially omega-3 fatty acids.

The omega-3 fatty acid is an essential fat that the human body cannot produce on its own except through food intake or supplements. It is important in cell membranes, mainly in the functions of the cell receptors, which initiate the physiological response. It also regulates blood clotting, contraction and relaxation of artery walls, and inflammation.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), the leading cause of death in the Philippines is ischaemic heart disease caused by the narrowing of arteries. Furthermore, among the top leading causes of death is other kinds of heart diseases. Omega-3 plays a huge role in everyone’s heart health by reducing inflammation in the body that can damage blood vessels causing heart diseases. It also helps to avoid potentially fatal erratic heartbeat rhythm. Apart from that, omega-3 lowers triglycerides, which is when found high, becomes a sign of increased risks of heart diseases.

Omega-3 also works wonders for the eyes. Docosahexaenoic acid, a type of omega-3, is a main component in the retina. Without it, the eyes may suffer from different vision problems. According to Dr. Ann Bajart of Harvard Medical School, “DHA will not reverse retinal damage, it may help preserve vision, and relieve dry eye and chronic inflammation of the eyelids.”

The benefits of omega-3 are not only applicable to adults and older people. Omega-3 may be even more advantageous during early life. According to Healthline.com, “Studies show that getting enough omega-3s during your first year of life is linked to a reduced risk of many autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, autoimmune diabetes, and multiple sclerosis.” Omega-3 in children and young adults even decreases their chances of having asthma.

Omega-3 proves to be essential for optimal health. Other benefits include improving mental disorders, preventing cancer, and increasing the quality of sleep. To help you get enough it, fish oil supplements can make sure that you do not miss WHO’s recommended amount of omega-3.

The #1 supplement recommendation for me is hands down Omega 3 Fatty. This is a must have for every family. The benefits mentioned above cover all bases when it comes to your health & wellness. The key, like with all supplements is finding a quality legit fish oil.

What is Bio-zapper Therapy?

According to the Canadian naturopath and author of “Cure of All Diseases” Hulda Clark, all diseases in the body are caused by parasites or toxins that can potentially weaken the immune system. Clark, who studied parasites for almost all of her life, claimed that intestinal parasites cause cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and AIDS when combined with solvent or alcohol. In some studies, an average male body is believed to carry approximately two pounds of parasites lurking around.

In her lifelong research about parasites, Clark was able to find a solution to get rid of them through her innovation of the ‘zapper’. The electrical device is created to kill the parasites by reversing their polarity. Since the parasites are positively charged, negatively charged ions destroy them.

In 1995, Clark’s zapper innovation inspired the Bio-Zapper, which produces different levels of frequencies depending on what the patient needs to destroy the harmful microorganisms. The lower the frequency, the deeper it penetrates the cavities.

The Bio-zapper Therapy is done by equipping the patients with two handles called “paddles”. The paddles will start to vibrate, and it can last for about 20 minutes depending on the patient’s condition. Once the body experiences the zapping regularly, vitamins and minerals will also be fully absorbed by the body instead of unconsciously sharing them with the parasites.

There are many benefits people can get from the Bio-zapper. Using Bio-zapper can increase resistance to common colds. It can also act more efficiently than antibiotics. Patients can even expect their organs to be purified. On top of those things, zapping can kill cancer cells in the body.

Unfortunately, Bio-zapper is not for everyone. People with metals installed in their bodies should not use the device. According to Richter Alternative Medical Center Phils., patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, and the like are prohibited from using the Bio-zapper. Pregnant women are also not allowed to experience the zapping.

As a health & wellness expert, I have made it my life’s mission to educate the masses on the most powerful ways to improve one’s health. Biozap therapy has proven effective with noticeable improved live blood analysis post biozap therapy. I highly recommend it.
